Spotlight on Kesha Colton- MRI Director

Being able to help others was a passion for Kesha Colton before her days as an MRI Director. She once was fond of pursuing a career in social work. After working as a parent aid at DFCAS, she quickly found that her calling wasn't sociology. Feeling discouraged, Kesha sought advice from a friend working in Radiology, to shadow his work as an x-ray tech. Through this experience, Kesha rekindled her connection to help others in their life, so she changed her major to radiology technology.

In 2001, she started at Resurgens Orthopaedics as an x-ray tech. Intrigued with producing images for body diagnostics, Kesha decided to challenge herself by changing her job to MRI Technology. After endless hours of cross-training before and after hours at work, Kesha became an MRI Tech for four years. Quickly, she mastered her skills as an MRI tech and felt she needed more growth in her life, so she took on the leadership role. With her love for helping others, she wanted to continue to mentor others and establish a supportive environment for the MRI staff. In 2018, she was promoted to MRI Director. In her role, Kesha also helps with many projects and works with several executives in the company. Beyond her role as a Director, Kesha is a mother to two sons and enjoys spending time with them on the weekends.

Spotlight on Eric Barnwell- SW Region Site Manager (Austell/Douglasville/Vinings and West Cobb)

Eric is originally from Marietta, Ga, leaving for the Military (Navy) right out of high school. He had been accepted to attend electrical engineering school, but when Uncle Sam found out he was color blind, he had to go with his second choice, medicine. He went on to train as a hospital corpsman, then on to ortho technician school. He served 5.5 years moving on to a civilian ortho practice in NC for 10 years, before being enticed by Resurgens in 2002. Eric started his Resurgens career in the Roswell office. He worked with Dr. Edward Holliger out of the Roswell, Cumming and St. Joseph's locations. After several years with Dr. Holliger, he moved to the NW Region to work with Dr. Glenn Jonas out of the Kennesaw, Marietta, Canton, and Town Lake offices.

Eric worked as a certified ortho tech for 13 years. In 2015, Eric received a call from Karen Dalton, asking him to interview for a recently opened Clinical Manager position in the SW Region. Although he'd had experience in management as an 2^nd class petty officer in the military, to be honest, training was more on his radar than management. As most people who know Karen, she can be very persuasive. Karen outlined all the reasons he would make a great Clinical Manager. Eric remained in the Clinical Manager role for 3 years until he found himself having a conversation with Karen as to why he would make a great Site Manager….as they say the rest is history.

Eric encourages everyone interested in growth opportunity, "to stay true to yourself. Never compromise your beliefs regardless of how difficult the situation, doing the right thing is not always easy! Do not let opportunities pass you by because you're "comfortable" (a word easier to digest than scared). Master your craft/current position because it will not go un-noticed and you will eventually have your day in the sun! Be flexible! Things might not always happen on your timeline. Be patient, growth opportunity will happen when the time is right. For those going into leadership, understand the difference between a leader and a manager. There is a very distinctive difference."

Spotlight on Carrie Fednander- Corporate Staff Accountant

Carrie was born and raised in Smyrna, GA. She attended Kennesaw State University after high school and received her undergraduate degree in Psychology in 2004. One year after she graduated Carrie applied at Resurgens in Marietta (back then it was the Chicopee office). Carrie originally started out in Medical Records when we still had paper charts. She went onto the front desk after we converted over to electronic medical records. Two years later Carrie worked as an Administrative Assistant at Marietta and eventually moved into her role as an Operations Manager at Austell. Over time Carrie has travelled and worked in the Northwest, Southwest, and Central Regions and has been with the company for 17 years.

After a 12-year span working as an Operations Manager; in June of this year, Carrie accepted a position in the Accounting department at the Corporate location. With recently receiving her MBA, Carrie decided that she was ready to expand her knowledge working with numbers which she has always enjoyed.

Carrie encourages others to go for what they want and never stop learning. When looking for growth utilize the resources available within the company to assist in reaching your goals. Believe in yourself and don't be afraid to take chances because you are complacent. Lastly, be kind, do everything with a genuine heart, and never settle for less than you deserve.
