October 23, 2017 (Atlanta) — Resurgens Orthopaedics, one of the nation's largest and most specialized orthopaedic practices, continues expanding the geographic reach of its medical services to better serve its patients. As 2017 comes to a close, the practice celebrates a landmark year of growth with the opening of its Acworth location in November. This will give Resurgens Orthopaedics a total of 23 locations in the Atlanta area.

The practice will also add seven orthopaedic surgeons this year, including three spine specialists—bringing its total to 102 expert physicians.

This year's expansion included the opening of a pair of new surgery centers in Covington and Fayetteville, respectively. On October 2, Resurgens Orthopaedics began practicing at WellStar Vinings Healthpark in Vinings. The Canton office settles into its new location on October 30, and Dr. Doug Widener will be anchoring that facility.

On November 13, Resurgens Orthopaedics brings its specialized care to WellStar Acworth Healthpark, bolstering its presence in northwest metro Atlanta.

As for the future, Resurgens Orthopaedics arrives in Newnan summer 2018. Upon finishing his total joint reconstruction fellowship, Dr. Charles Claps will lead that location.
