Physiatrists obtain a patient history, perform a physical evaluation and use the following tools to prescribe an individualized treatment plan: X-rays, MRI, Other diagnostic tools

In addition, Physiatrists prescribe spine therapy specifically for each patient's symptoms and diagnosis. When appropriate, Physiatrists perform interventional spinal injections and Electromyography (EMG) and Nerve Conduction Studies (NCS).
