(Atlanta GA -- September 5th, 2018) - Dr. Charles E. Claps, D.O. has joined Atlanta-based Resurgens Orthopaedics, one of the largest and most specialized orthopaedic practices in the nation. Dr. Claps will be based in Resurgens' Newnan and Fayetteville locations beginning September 4. He specializes in hip and knee conditions, joint replacement and general orthopedics and his areas of expertise include anterior total hip replacement, minimally invasive total hip replacement, total knee replacement, partial knee replacement and outpatient and rapid recovery hip and knee replacement.

Resurgens Orthopaedic's Newnan location opened this summer and is one of 24 Resurgens locations across metro Atlanta. The Newnan office has six physicians specializing in all orthopaedic conditions, including the spine, hip, knee, hand, wrist, elbow and shoulder, along with comprehensive non-operative and surgical musculoskeletal care, from injury diagnosis and treatment to rehabilitation and imaging services.

Dr. Claps received his medical degree from Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine in Erie, PA and completed his residency at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center Pinnacle Health in Harrisburg, PA, where he was Chief Resident. He completed a Fellowship in adult reconstruction and total joint replacement at Wake Forest University Baptist Health in Winston Salem, NC. Dr. Claps is a member of the American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons, the American Association of Orthopedic Surgeons and the American Osteopathic Academy of Orthopedics.
