Resurgens Orthopaedics Named a Top Workplace by Atlanta Journal-Constitution For 9th Consecutive Year
Resurgens Orthopaedics Remains #1 Healthcare Company and 7th Overall Among Large Atlanta Companies
Resurgens Orthopaedics has been named a Top Atlanta Workplace for the ninth consecutive year by the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. Resurgens is ranked seventh in the entire metro Atlanta area among large workplaces (those with 500 or more employees) and is the top-ranked healthcare company in that category. Resurgens Orthopaedics is one of only a few companies to earn the Top Workplace distinction every year since the award’s inception.
The AJC determines its Top Workplace honorees through employee surveys and this year, just 150 companies were recognized out of more than 4,300 entries.
“The AJC’s Top Workplace award is very meaningful to us because it recognizes exceptional cultures, based on what employees have to say about working at the company” said Dr. Douglas Lundy, Resurgens Orthopaedics co-president. “We strive to create a culture in which employees are engaged and proud of the work they do together, and we firmly believe it translates to providing exceptional care to our patients.”
“We are thrilled to be recognized as a Top Workplace for the ninth consecutive year,” said Sue Dunlap, Director of Human Resources for Resurgens Orthopaedics. “Our exceptional culture is one of the reasons we are able to attract and retain top talent and we work hard to ensure Resurgens is a place our team wants to come to every day to do the best work of their lives.”
We asked the managers to invite employees from the top five departments who responded to the AJC survey to attend the announcement event. The top five departments were; the Cumming office, MRI techs, X-ray techs, workers compensation coordinators, and our rehabilitation managers.
More than 4,300 companies were nominated or asked to participate in the 2019 Top Workplaces process by The Atlanta Journal-Constitution and its partner, Energage (formerly Workplace Dynamics). Employees across the metro area responded to print and online solicitations that began appearing in September. Using survey results, a list of 150 workplaces was compiled, consisting of 20 large companies (500 or more employees), 55 midsize companies (150-499 employees) and 75 small companies (149 or fewer employees).
Resurgens Orthopaedics, one of the nation’s largest orthopaedic practices, has 21 offices throughout metro Atlanta, serving the residents of Georgia, the southeast and beyond. Resurgens Orthopaedics provides comprehensive operative and non-operative musculoskeletal care in a single location, from injury diagnosis and treatment to rehabilitation and imaging services. With more than 90 physicians, Resurgens Orthopaedics provides specialized expertise and broad experience in the areas of sports medicine, joint replacement, neck and back surgery, foot and ankle surgery, shoulder and elbow surgery, non-operative spine care, hand surgery, arthroscopic surgery, epidural steroid injection, general orthopaedics and trauma care.
Workplace Dynamics, founded in 2006, partners with the AJC to perform the surveys. It measures areas such as employee motivation, desire to remain with the company, pay, training, work/life balance, company values, execution, leadership and culture, among other areas.
More than 2,500 companies were nominated or asked to participate in the process after employees across the metro area responded to print and online solicitations that began to appear in September. Workplace Dynamics then surveyed 275 companies that agreed to participate. Each company required a response rate of at least 35 percent for employees based in metro Atlanta to qualify. In all, nearly 60,000 workers across the region participated in the survey.
