Resurgens' Losers Prove To Be Real Winners!
Temperatures and gas prices may be rising in metro Atlanta, but at Atlanta's premier orthopaedic practice, Resurgens Orthopaedics, numbers are drastically dropping as employees hit the scales week after week and shed those extra pounds.
Vying for the title of "The Biggest Loser", individuals and teams are grabbing their running shoes and hitting the healthy eating path during the 3-month competition that kicked off on May 1st and extends through July 31st.
The contest is part of Resurgens' corporate health initiative launched back in September 2007 to help employees reach and maintain a healthy weight.
With the lure of hefty cash prizes and less hefty weights, 159 participants comprising 12 office teams are cheering on their fellow teammates. Skinny jeans Fridays and low fat/low calorie potluck luncheons are just a few of the activities to keep the losing momentum going between weekly weigh-ins.
As the competition deadline nears an end, individual losers and office team losers are literally within "inches" of each other. The cash grand prize will be awarded to the individual who loses the greatest percentage of body weight. First place "team" prizes will be awarded to every member of the team losing the greatest percentage of body weight.
To date, Resurgens employees have lost an astonishing amount of weight totaling over 915 pounds and 3-14 percent of their body weights. With a few weeks still to go, fellow-losers vow to get back into their favorite jeans and swim suits.
